Bluebell Wood - Etching in Colour

This print was inspired by walking behind my daughter through the woods when the bluebells were out. A carpet of blue surrounded her which worked beautifully with her bright pink wellington boots. She was 8 years old at the time and I wanted to capture her childhood before it flew by. I captured several images of her at the time that I will work into a series of prints.
This traditional woodland scene has been captured by artists over millenia, but I feel this image has a contemporary twist, in relation to the clothes she was wearing (eg. the pink Boden hoody). Without the clothing you wouldn't really know what period the picture is set.
